PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Hansen-Rice, Inc. is seeking a Project Superintendent to provide administrative and technical support for the project management process, including managing subcontractors’ work performance, productivity and safety.  Will enforce company and project policies, maintain client interface and ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the design, safety, quality, budget and schedule.  Fast paced, team oriented company.  Requires being located on projects situated throughout the United States. 

The individual awarded the position will have a “Can-Do” attitude, be a quick learner, and possess the drive to succeed.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  1. Willingness to be stationed at projects located throughout the U.S.
  2. 10 years’ experience in the construction industry.
  3. Management and leadership skills.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods.
  5. Working knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical and electrical work.
  6. Manage the punch list and project closeout process to assure timely completion.
  7. Good knowledge of construction principles and codes (i.e. UBC, ADA, etc.).
  8. Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  9. Strong scheduling skills.
  10. Critical thinker.
  11. Results oriented.
  12. Ability to read and understand blueprints
  13. Excellent negotiation skills
  14. Computer skills – Excel, MS Project, Outlook
  15. Keen recordkeeping skills
  16. Ability to work in stressful situations while remaining even-tempered.

    EXPERIENCED CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

    The Project Manager will supervise, coordinate, and ensure the timely construction of multiple building projects located throughout the U.S.  Requires expertise in project management, including planning, development, implementation and evaluation.  Responsible for client relations and satisfaction, job supervision, and subcontractor management.  Duties include developing and sustaining project schedules, maintaining budget, and working with Project Supervisors and Steel Superintendents to assure productivity and timeliness. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of excellence with regard to safety and quality.  Will be expected to effectively work with vendors and subcontractors to negotiate favorable rates, procure materials, and obtain equipment. Promoting teamwork, cooperation, and open communication among all those involved with project is a required function of this position. 

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Willingness to travel, to include on-site assignments of 90 days or more.
  • Five years experience in 16 division work design-build commercial/industrial construction is required.
  • Proven track record with safety and quality.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills; written and verbal.
  • Ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relations.
  • Materials procurement - five years experience.
  • Estimating experience preferable.
  • Scheduling – five years minimum.
  • Solicit, negotiate and issue subcontracts and material purchase orders.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to review and analyze cost reports.
  • Some knowledge of codes (i.e. UBC, ADA, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills to include:   Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Good record keeping skills.

JOB MAY REQUIRE:

  • Bending/stooping, squatting, crawling, reaching above shoulders, kneeling and twisting.
  • Ascending to and descending from heights up to or over 100' by use of permanent or temporary stairs, ladders, aerial lifts or use of personnel hoists.
  • Some lifting of various weights and sizes.  May involve lifting above shoulders.
  • Operate, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Repetitive motion (to include, but not limited to): standing, walking or sitting for extended periods of time, working at a computer and typing for long periods of time.
  • Working extended periods of time in stressful situations.
  • Willing to work in all types of weather.

CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER

THIS POSITION DOES NOT REQUIRE AN ENGINEERING DEGREE.  The Construction Engineer will support and work closely with the on-site and off-site field project management team.  The successful individual must be a detail oriented professional with good management and computer skills, demonstrating a high energy level and outstanding initiative.   Duties include processing/tracking/distributing submittals and RFI’s, document control, assist in preparing change orders, compiling production and cost statistics, coordinating materials, tracking equipment rental arrival/departures, scheduling, etc.  Ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to interact well with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and all departments within the company.  Construction Management degree or equivalent construction experience is required.   This individual must be capable of working under high stress conditions.

Must be willing to travel and be assigned to nationwide projects of 90 days or more.  Must be able to work in the US, there is no relocation package for this position.

METAL BUILDING - STEEL FOREMAN

We are currently seeking a Metal Building-Steel Foreman to direct the construction of our projects located throughout the U.S.  This individual should be capable of working hands on while managing the erection of prefabricated metal building projects in excess of 200,000 square feet, in all types of weather; including but not limited to raising, placing and uniting iron or steel girders, columns and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks.  The preferred candidate should have experience with IMP’s and wall/roof sheeting.
