STRUCTURAL STEEL/METAL BUILDING SUPERINTENDENT

Hansen-Rice, Inc., a nationwide general contractor, is seeking a Structural Steel/Metal Building Superintendent to direct the construction of our projects located throughout the U.S. Must have ten (10) years commercial/industrial structural steel/metal building hands-on construction experience. Fast paced, team oriented company.

The Superintendent will supervise, coordinate, and ensure the timely construction of projects located throughout the U.S. Will be responsible for field crew management, client relations and satisfaction, job supervision, and subcontractor relations. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of excellence with regard to safety and quality, inspecting job sites for conformance to requirements. Duties include developing and sustaining project schedules, maintaining budget, conducting safety meetings, completion of paperwork (daily reports, equipment tracking, weekly safety report, timecards, personnel forms, etc.), assuring productivity, staffing, employee relations, adherence to company policies, etc.

Position will require hands-on work as needed. Ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to interact well with clients, crews, vendors, subcontractors, and all departments within the company.

The individual awarded this position will have a “Can-Do” attitude, be a quick learner, and possess the drive to succeed. The successful applicant will train with a current Superintendent prior to going it alone.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  1. Travel and work on Nationwide assignments required – Road Warrior.
  2. Ten years hands-on structural steel/metal building construction experience.
  3. Well developed knowledge of construction principles and codes (i.e. UBC, ADA, etc.)
  4. Strong attention to safety and quality.
  5. Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
  6. Keen scheduling ability.
  7. Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  8. Skilled in the operation of construction equipment (rigging and cranes, forklifts and aerial equipment).
  9. Ability to review and analyze cost reports.
  10. Good negotiation skills.
  11. Good computer skills required for paperwork completion– Excel, Word, MS Project, and Outlook.
  12. Detail oriented with strong recordkeeping skills.

Successful candidates may be required to pass a background/credit check.
